REVIEW: Dirtiest Secret by J. Kenner

TITLE: Dirtiest Secret

AUTHOR: J. Kenner

SERIES: S.I.N. #1

GENRE:  Erotic Romance

PUBLICATION: April 19th 2016 by Bantam

MY RATING: 5 STARS

It was wrong for us to be together, but it was even harder to be apart.

The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.

Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.

Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.

We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.

Dirtiest Secret is intended for mature audiences.

I received an ARC, courtesy of publisher Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, via NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.

Dark, erotic, intriguing, suspensful, definitely not the book I was expecting from J. Kenner.
I cannot deny that some situation were "disturbing". Kidnapping, child abuse, sex between siblings, are not something I usually like to read. But I think the author handled all of these situation very well, creating an emotional and seductive story.
Dallas Sykes and Jane Martin aren't siblings by blood, but siblings nevertheless. The connection between them is strong since they were children. As adults they share a forbidden love and scars that run deep their souls.
“We destroyed each other, he and I. Even now, after so many years, we’re still cracked and broken. And broken we’ll remain, because without the other, we can never be whole.”
Dallas is know as the King Of Fuck but appearances can be misleading. He is broken and torn between what he wants - and can never have -, and his revenge against those who broke him and Jane's life forever.
The relationship between Dallas and Jane is extremely complex and heartbreaking.
Narrated from dual POV, I could get into their psyche and understand their feelings and their personal fight to heal from their past. I could feel their pain, their endless love for each other.
Dirtiest Secret is a book that pushes boundaries. It's a story of secrets, strenght, hope and second-chance love. It's an emotional ride through the dark of the most terrible experience and the fight to find the light again.
This brilliant, intricate and passionate story ended with a final twist leaving me craving for more.
