REVIEW: Campaigning For Christopher by Katy Regnery

TITLE: Campaigning For Christopher

AUTHOR: Katy Regnery

SERIES: Blueberry Lane 2 - The Winslow Brothers #4

PUBLICATION: Published November 17th 2015 by Katharine Gilliam Regnery

Campaigning for Christopher is the fourth of four books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome Winslow brothers who are all on the look-out for love.

(Ummm...that's a lie. Skye, Elise and Margaret simply aren't the sort of girls that share. And frankly, with the election right around the corner, Chris doesn't have any time for love either...)

Christopher Winslow, the youngest of the four Winslow brothers, was born with a silver spoon in his privileged mouth, which has made it difficult for him to establish his credibility in the fast-approaching congressional race. Working against the clock to assure Pennsylvania voters that he is forthright, trustworthy and able has been an exhausting challenge, but Christopher's chances at beating the incumbent look good.

Julianne Crow, a plus-size model struggling to make ends meet, jumps at the chance to make a little extra cash on the side. What does she have to do? Slip something into Christopher Winslow's drink and take some very naughty pictures with him.

But Christopher is nothing like Julianne expected, and when her actions sabotage his hard-earned campaign only a month before the election, her guilt is overwhelming. She offers Christopher her help in an effort to repair the damage she's caused, but can anything change the fact that he sees her as an opportunist and a mercenary? When she starts campaigning for Christopher, he may find out there's more to her than meets the eye.

Return to the world created in the English Brothers books with this fresh foursome of scorching hot Winslow Brothers!

Katy Regnery never miss to amaze and surprise me. This is another unique, fabulous, heartwarming story.
The storyline is unique, lust at first sight turninig into betrayal that turns into love. A rollercoaster of emotions. Not too sweet, not too dramatic, I found all the best thing I love in a book.
The main characters, Julienne and Christopher, are gorgeous but not perfect, they are strong but they have doubts at the same time. This makes them more real and the connection with them is instantaneous.
Julienne is an American Indian and this has hooked me from the beginnig. She's smart, beautiful but she has got a very sad and tough childhood. She's so different from all the other women. I loved how she's so passionate in what she believes, she's still learning the ways of the world outside the reservation and she's getting to know herself, and following her dream she makes mistakes but  she has the humility and the courage to fix them, even if this means to be hurt.
"It's never too late to make amends, Wichahpi. There is always time to reverse a wrong. Where there is right, there is a way."
The decisions she takes make her so human, she's a woman who wants to make a real difference in the world. The story behind this character, about American Indian, is one I wish to be told more in detail, but for obvious reasons (this is a romance) the author could only give the readers a glimpse of it. But this is something that kept my interest in the book at high level.
"It was time to stop measuring her own worth through a lens of perceived discrimination."
Chritopher is... a Winslow!!! Gorgeous, sexy, smart, rich, sweet, driven, simply prefect. But he's more than that, he's a man that doesn't take his money and heritage for granted, he put his ambitions at the service of the underprivileged. Family for Christopher comes always first, politcs is only the means to change the world and make a difference.
"The success of a life isn't measured by one victory, he thought, but by the sum of all."
The relationship between Julienne and Christopher starts on the wrong bases, on betrayal, dislike and anger. And like in real life it takes courage to right the wrongs, to ask for forgivness, to forgive, earn redemption and trust again. They come from different social environments but they have the same dreams and they fight the same battles.
"In the strangest way, that's exactly what Julianne sensed now: that one of them was a hurricane and the other was the earth, and both were powerless to fight or stop the imminent collision of forces."
Katy's writing is always neat, fluent, appealing and it's impossible not to fall in love with her books.
With this book I have to say goodbye to the Winslow Brothers, but my heart is ready to cherish the Rousseaus.

  1. I'll be starting the first series this month! can you believe it! it's feels as though you recommended them to me so long ago! I'm not reading this review because I' don't want it to spoiler though this series will be for later on this year (didn't want all 11 to be one after the other so I separated the two sub series)
